Custom Chords

Custom chords can be used just like the chords that you find using the search window. To create a custom chord diagram, go to the Chord Progression menu and select "Custom Chord."

You will see two text boxes. The Name text box lets you change the label above the chord: G, G7, etc. The Chord text box lets you change the diagram itself: for each string, enter the number of the fret where you want to place a finger. Write "X" for silent strings. For example [3 X X 4 3 3] results in the following diagram:

You can specify root notes by typing "R" immediately after the fret number. For example, [3r X X 4 3 3] places a bulls-eye on the first string:

You can also specify a barre by adding a "B" immediately after the fret number for the string where you want the barre to start. For example, [X 10R 9 7B 8 7] results in:

Note: ChordMate does not support chords that span more than four frets.
