Chord Progression Window

The chord progression window displays your chord progression as a sequence of diagrams. One of the diagrams is selected to show you where you are. You can press the spacebar to play the selected chord and use the arrow keys to move around in the chord progression (left and right arrow keys allow you to move to the next and previous chord even if you are in the end or the beginning of a row). You can also play and select a chord with the mouse.

To add a chord from the main window, you can drag-and-drop it before, after, or in place of any chord. While the drag operation is in progress, a blue cursor will show you where the chord will end up if you drop it. Placing the chord over another chord will replace it (the chord to be replaced will be put in a blue frame while the dragged chord is over it). You can also move chords around in the chord progression by dragging them. The chord progression window supports Undo/Redo, so if you make a mistake, you can use the standard shortcuts to undo your change.

If you need to replace a chord in the chord progression with another voicing, you can select the chord and press the Find button in the toolbar. ChordMate will activate the main window with the result of the search that you used to find the selected chord.

To play the chord progression from the selected chord, you can use the play controls in the toolbar. You can also use the "Play All" button to play the entire chord progression.

ChordMate automatically saves your chord progression and opens it when you start the program next time. You can also save it in a file choosing Chord Progression > Save and later open it choosing Chord Progression > Open from the main menu.
